interesting, but I don;t buy it. The balance of profiteering falls on the side of those who maintain the status quo, and therefore benefit most from repudiating the global warming threat. There is no question, global warming is occuring. However, there are always those who will look to profit from this.

...true Dave - suicide is a possibility...whatever happened to Tim - murder, accident, suicide or any combination thereof, its timing, the location, the background events taking place at the time of the incident...there's something awry about the whole situation...

...guess the truth has long been buried now, and there's probably no point in speculating...I don't think anyone who knows anything of value will ever come forward with the information...if they did, we'd hear about them bungee jumping from high-rises sans safety cords...

Lots more on Tim Hampton at http://www.peakoil.org.au/news/index.php?hampton.ctbt.htm
His main claim to fame was as a computer technician responsible for the computer system that collects seismic, acoustic and radiation data from sensors around the world to detect nuclear explosions for the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. This was the focus of attention in May 2009 when North Korea announced it would conduct a nuclear test. Could Hampton's system detect it without any argument ? No - the seismic data showed a 4 kiloton explosion, but the radiation data showed it was NOT nuclear. But the pro-CTBT people just ignored the problem and Hampton committed suicide, maybe.

Awesome article. Comfort zone and logic are the biggest enemies. When we CHOOSE to stay in our comfort zone, we have all the logical reasoning in the world to do so. We all know what we need to do in order to succeed but still we hold ourselves back. That is because we are comfortable being who we are. Humans are awesome actors when it comes to playing the role of victims of fate, destiny and other fellow human beings' actions. We curse and kick ourselves because we are not where we want to be in our lives, yet when it comes to act, very few (probably a single digit percentage) step out of their comfort zone and act! The very first step that may lead one to start stepping out of comfort zone is to ask yourself this question frequently, “Whatever I am doing right now, how is it contributing to help me in getting closer to where I want to be in life?"
A lot of us cannot start and hold a conversation with a stranger for more than one minute. That is one of the most effective ways of working towards getting yourself out of your comfort zone.

I find much the same thing: when I write to the Toronto Star's O/L comments, or their letters to the editor, I frequently get published; when I use a \white\ nom de plume, I NEVER get published!
